In 1985, Alfonse Muto opened the doors to Pine Pharmacy on Pine Avenue in Niagara Falls, New York, marking the beginning of a journey that would become a cornerstone of the Western New York community. As the sole owner and employee in those early years, Alfonse provided personalized attention to each customer, ensuring they received the service and care they deserved. Over time, he recognized the increasing demand for specialized medication and the growing need for a pharmacy that could cater to these unique needs. This led to the expansion of Pine Pharmacy, with multiple locations opening across Buffalo and Rochester to meet demands. Today, Pine services communities from its location in Williamsville, NY, which now stands as a PCAB-accredited pharmacy.
As Pine Pharmacy’s legacy continued to grow, so did the Muto family’s vision for patient care. Alfonse was later joined by his son, Alfonse J. Muto, Pharm.D., and together, they expanded their family business to meet more specialized needs. This collaboration led to the founding of Pine Pharmaceuticals, an FDA-registered 503B outsourcing facility. With this addition, the Muto family was now able to extend their reach, making it possible to compound both patient-specific and non-patient-specific medications.
Pine Pharmacy’s commitment to the community has fueled its maturation and success. In addition to compounding medications, Pine Pharmacy offers a wide range of products, including pharmaceutical-grade supplements, beauty essentials, and everyday household items, all available to promote the health and wellness of families across the region.
